I WISH THIS PROLIFIC GOALSCORER PLAYED FOR LIVERPOOL
Anfield legend Steven Gerrard has admitted that he wishes Harry Kane would play for Liverpool instead of Tottenham.
Kane, 24, has been in incredible form as of late for Spurs, scoring seven goals in his last three matches across both the Premier League and Champions League.
In total this term, the England international has nine goals in 11 matches despite not finding the net once in August.
Former England and Liverpool captain Gerrard has now made it clear that he would want Kane to join his old club but he will have to make do with him playing for the Three Lions instead.
“I am glad he is English, I wish he was a Red,” he said, as quoted by Sky Sports.
“I am really happy for him with the form he is in and I am really enjoying watching him at the moment.”
Prolific goalscorer Kane – who scored 35 goals in 38 games last term – will now be turning his focus to the England national team over the coming days in World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and Lithuania.
The Three Lions just need to avoid defeat in those games to earn themselves a spot in the 2018 World Cup in Russia next summer, where Kane will no doubt hope to improve on his hapless display at Euro 2016 last year.
The striker was infamously given free kick and corner taking duties by Roy Hodgson at the time and failed to score a single goal in four games before England were dumped out by Iceland.
